Sonora Man Arrested After Threatening Female

Sonora, CA– A Sonora man was arrested early Tuesday evening on a number of charges including assault with a deadly weapon.


According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, 30-year-old Joshua Swann is suspected of pulling a knife on 43-year-old Steffanie Henningsen of Vallecito. Henningsen told Sheriff’s Deputies that she and Swann were in her truck in Sonora when Swann threatened to stab her.


She then jumped out of the truck and ran to a nearby home where she was hidden by the home owner. Swann was able to find the home and began looking into the windows. The home owner who was armed with a handgun, confronted Swann as he walked up to the front door.  Swann soon left in Henningsen’s truck.


A short time later, Sonora Police and CHP Officers located the truck in the Sonora Kragen Auto parking lot. Although Swann was not in the truck, he was found in the area. Swann who tried to leave the area holding a knife, ignored orders from the officers who eventually had to use a taser to subdue him.


Swann is facing charges of assualt with a deadly weapon, robbery, auto theft, threats with intent to terrorize, violation of parole and resisting arrest.
