A cold storm system containing snow is heading straight for the Motherlode.
According to the National Weather Service, the storm will arrive in the Motherlode beginning on Tuesday, with the heaviest impact on Wednesday.
Snow levels will lower to 2500 feet.
Two inches of snow accumulation is likely at 2500 feet. Two feet of snow is probable at 6000 feet.
Small hail and sleet will also be possible on Wednesday.
One to three inches of rain should be expected below the snow line.
Winds of up to fifty mph is likely in the Sierra Nevada.
