Sierra Winter Storm Watch Issued For Weekend
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Saturday (Christmas) evening through Sunday morning.
The Sierra Nevada may see five to ten inches of snow accumulation above 5000 feet. Eight to twelve inches of snow is possible above 6000 feet. Nine to fifteen inches of snow is likely above 7000 feet.
Snow levels will range from 3000 through 6500 feet.
Winds may gust from sixty to seventy mph over the crest of the Sierra Nevada.
Rainfall amounts in the Motherlode will range from three quarters to one inch of rain.
