CHP Toy Drive A Success
San Andreas, CA– The 12th Annual San Andreas CHP “CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive” was a great success. Over 300 toys were collected and will be distributed through the Calaveras County Santa’s Express Program.
“The people of Calaveras County never fail to amaze me,” said CHP San Andreas Commander Tim Port. “Even during these trying times we collected over 300 toys. If it weren’t for the families that generously gave, there would be children in Calaveras County that would not be receiving a toy for Christmas.”
The “CHiPs for Kids Toy Drive” is an opportunity every year for schoolchildren and members of the community to collect and donate new, unwrapped toys for hospitalized and disadvantaged children.
Toys were collected in barrels at local Calaveras County Elementary schools and also dropped off at the CHP office in San Andreas and the substation in Arnold.
