Sponsored by:

Sacramento, CA– This Monday, voting-by-mail begins in a special election in Senate District 1 to replace the late Dave Cox.

The voting-by-mail in counties across his district will give voters their pick of either Republican Assemblyman Ted Gaines of Roseville or Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley, a Democrat, in the January 4th special election.

Through December 28th, voters may request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed to them. Senate Dictrict 1 covers Calaveras County, eastern Sacramento County and communities from Mammoth Lakes to the Oregon border.

For information on voting by mail, call 916-875-6500. Applications can also be found on the back of the sample ballot booklets recently sent to voters.
