Supervisors Approve S.P.I Proposal

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– The Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved a proposal by Sierra Pacific Industries to rezone a 15 acre piece of property in Standard to “Commercial Use.”

Although no specific plans have been made by S.P.I, the zoning change will now allow developers to build future businesses and potentially a new shopping center on the property. The property is just east of the new Standard Center, which has the Tractor Supply Store and will soon include an AM/PM mini-mart and a fast food restaurant.

The proposal was unanimously approved 4-0 with Supervisor Liz Bass absent.
