Cash Drive Raises Over $20,000

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Clarke Broadcasting’s Santa Fly-In Cash Drive for Interfaith has raised over $20,000 thus far thanks to community donations.

Justin and Maryann from Star 92.7 and Big Joe and Bridgette on 93.5 KKBN hosted day two of the on-air cash drive this morning and received an outpouring of community support from individual residents and businesses. All donations go directly to Interfaith Social Services to provide food, clothes and necessities for Tuolumne County residents in need.

“Again, the Mother Lode has poured its heart out to meet the needs of those in our community,” says Larry England, Clarke Broadcasting General Manager. “Interfaith is a hard working, non-denominational organization, that offers free services to all Tuolumne County citizens in need. We appreciate Cathie Peacock, Executive Director, and the more than 200 volunteers that operate Interfaith year round. The cash, food and coat drive will help extend Interfaith’s budget well into 2011.”

Activities culminate tomorrow, when the community is urged to bring additional cash donations, new and lightly used coats and non-perishable food items to Standard Park for the Santa Fly-In Food and Coat Drive for Interfaith.

“The last couple of days were awe inspiring and overwhelming in generosity,” says Project Coordinator Maryann Curmi. “And I believe that when we see folks face to face tomorrow with their coats, their food and even more cash, it will further prove that the Mother Lode can, and will, support our own.”

Saturday’s event will run from 9am-3pm at Standard Park and Santa Claus will arrive at noon thanks to PHI Air Med and Tuolumne County Ambulance. For more information click here.
