A Winter Storm Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Sierra Nevada from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening as well as the Motherlode from Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.
Ten to fourteen inches of snow is possible above 4000 feet.
Snow levels may drop to around 1000 feet by Tuesday morning.
Winds of twenty-five to thirty mph are expected over the higher mountain ridges with gusts reaching up to fifty-five mph over the sierra crest.
