Storm Causes Morning Traffic Hazards
There are several traffic hazards this morning due to snow across the foothills.
Multiple traffic hazards have been reported in the Arnold area. An ambulance is responding to Highway 4 at Forest Meadows because a car has driven into a snow bank. Multiple tree limbs are reported down in the Arnold area, and some are blocking roads.
In Tuolumne County an oak tree is down on Laramie Lane at Bonanza Drive. On Highway 120 a tree is down near the intersection of Forest Road 1N07. Two vehicles have driven into a ditch on Tuolumne Road at Black Oak Road. Additionally, three stuck vehicles are posing a traffic hazard near Summerville High School in Tuolumne. A tree is blocking Lyons Bald Mountain Road at Apple Valley Drive. Trees are down on Italian Bar Road near Columbia. Most of the downed trees should be removed by late this morning across the region. A big rig truck has been blocking southbound traffic on Highway 49 near Wilcox Ranch Road.
There are also numerous power outages in the Mother Lode. Power outages have been reported in Sonora, Columbia, Arnold, Dorrington, Phoenix Lake, Cedar Ridge, Twain Harte, Groveland and others. Because of the amount of outages, there isn’t an overall restoration time for the region. Many will be back on around noon, others by late this afternoon.
