Sierra Winter Storm Warning Issued For Sunday
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Sierra Nevada from 9am Sunday through 6am Monday.
Snow may fall as low as 5000 feet. Six to ten inches of snow is expected above 6000 feet. Eighteen to twenty-four inches of snow is possible above 7000 feet.
Fifteen to forty mph winds should also be expected with some gusts reaching up to sixty mph over the higher elevations.
As of Sunday morning Highway 120 Tioga Pass was closed at Crane Flat, Highway 108 Sonora Pass was closed at Sno Park, Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass was closed at the Mt Reba turnoff and Highway 88 Carson Pass had chain or 4 wheel drive requirements beginning at Silver Lake.

It will also be wet and windy in the Motherlode on Sunday, with a possible one to two inches of rain. Winds may gust from thirty to forty mph.
