Yosemite Valley, CA– Yosemite National Park has selected a new operator for its medical clinic. The National Park Service staff from the U.S Public Health Service will provide the future clinical care at the Yosemite Medical Clinic starting January 1st, 2011. The contract for their current provider Tenet Healthcare Corporation, expires December 31, 2010.
The Clinic, located in Yosemite Valley, treats about 7,000 patients per year. Visitors to the park seek treatment for injuries sustained in the park, which includes sprained ankles, complex fractures, heart attacks, and other injuries and illnesses.
Additionally, park employees utilize the Clinic as a primary care facility. The Clinic currently provides occupational health, a pharmacy, and other health related services.
