Second Horse Sought Following Incident

Sponsored by:

Jamestown, CA — A horse rescued in Jamestown last week is recovering, and Tuolumne County Animal Control is now looking for a second horse of the same owner.

The horse (Gabriel) that collapsed near the intersection of Highway 108 and 5th Avenue on September 13th is undergoing a feeding/supplementation regimen prepared by the veterinarian to bring him back to normal weight. Animal Control has seized the horse and criminal charges can now be pursued against the owner, according to Animal Control Manager Jennifer Clarke.

Animal control is seeking information about a second horse owned by Donald Smith. The horse is a dark bay thoroughbred gelding (picture). As recently as a couple of weeks ago, Smith was seen riding one horse and leading the other. Anyone with information should call 694-2730.
