The 70th Annual Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee

The four-day Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee will kick off in Tuolumne City on Thursday evening.

Aaron Rasmussen, Tuolumne Lumber Jubilee Board President, was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

2019 marks the 70th year of the community celebration. The carnival events will begin at 5pm tomorrow and the queen speeches and obstacle course will start at 5:30pm.

Festivities will start earlier in the day on Friday, with a 1pm axe throw training, carnival rides beginning at 3pm, the queen coronation at 6pm and a concert by The Guy Dossi Band at 7pm.

On Saturday the popular parade will begin at 10am. It always draws a big crowd downtown. A car and logging truck show will follow from 11 AM through 3 PM.

Carnival rides and kids games will begin at 11am on Saturday. At 11am will also be specifically women’s and children’s events, 1pm will be logging events, at 3pm there is arm wrestling and 4pm is the junior tug of war, a challenge between Summerville and Calaveras High Schools. Then at 7pm will be a concert by the Burn Permit band.

On Sunday there will be a 9am Christian concert, carnival rides and competitive logging events at 11am and the final tug of war will be held at 4pm.

Other various demonstrations and events will take place throughout the weekend. It is a very family friendly event. Food and other vendors will also be on site.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45 on AM 1450 and FM 102.7 KVML.
