Yosemite, CA– In an effort to complete a road project on Wawona Road in Yosemite National Park by November, road construction has expanded to Friday and Saturday nights.
Visitors traveling into Yosemite via Highway 41/Wawona Road will experience delays of up to 30 minutes due to the project that will improve 24 miles of Wawona Road starting from the south entrance of Yosemite and ending at the junction of the road and Bridalviel Straight in Yosemite Valley. Crews will be resurfacing, restoring, improving drainage and grading and adding new signage and striping to the roadway. Initial road construction began in May and crews will now work seven days a week until the project is completed.
Motorists should expect delays Monday through Thursday from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm.
