Backpacks For Kids In Need
Sonora, CA– Sonora Regional Medical Center employees recently purchased 140 backpacks and filled them with school supplies to donate to local kids in need.
Mike McCoy, District Superintendent of the Sonora Union High School District and member of the Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club, spearheaded the backpack drive. In addition to the backpacks donated by the Medical Center, the Sonora Sunrise Rotary Club collected and distributed approximately 250 to 300 backpacks.
Local area schools that received backpacks include Belleview Elementary, Columbia Elementary, Curtis Creek School, Jamestown Elementary, Sonora Elementary, Sonora High School and Soulsbyville Elementary.
