California Term Limits Measure
Sponsored by:
Sacramento, CA — Secretary of State Debra Bowen has certified the first measure for the 2012 Presidential Primary ballot in California, an initiative to change legislative term limits.
The ballot measure would modify the law voters approved in 1990 and change the time someone can serve in the Legislature from 14 to 12 years. Voters rejected a similar term limits measure in 2008 that would have allowed current lawmakers to stay in office. They would not be affected by the 2012 measure.
