PAC Continues Endorsing Candidates
Sonora, CA – After some discussion, the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce’s Independent Political Action Committee will continue to endorse candidates in future elections.
Chamber President and CEO George Segarini says the matter was discussed at a recent Board of Directors meeting.
“The PAC has been very successful in supporting business candidates and getting them elected to office,” says Segarini. “I’m not sure that it’s entirely due to our endorsement of these folks, but the record of the PAC has been very good.”
Segarini notes that the overall Chamber Board has no say regarding the endorsements, and it’s left entirely to the Chamber’s independent committee.
Each candidate that the Chamber’s PAC has endorsed over the past two election cycles has gone on to win, with one exception. The PAC endorsed Randy Selesia over Liz Bass in the District One Tuolumne County Supervisor race, and Bass was the eventual winner.
