San Andreas, CA – A burglar in Calaveras County picked the wrong item to steal.

A home was broken into late Friday night at 4200 River Ranch Road in Mokelumne Hill. The 55-year-old female victim saw the intruder in her home and the two briefly got into a physical altercation.

The suspect left the scene in a Toyota truck after getting away with two I-Phones, a wallet, and a Glock model 17 handgun.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department was notified. Later in the night the victim was able to send out a "GPS ping" to the cell phone and it came back being located at a residence in the 200 block of Pope St. in San Andreas.

Deputies did a license check Saturday morning of the vehicle in the driveway, and found that it belongs to Raymond Seagraves, who is a suspect in multiple other burglaries in the Mountain Ranch area.

Deputies waited outside and then followed Seagraves to work Saturday morning and attempted to pull him over. A brief chase ensued, but Seagraves eventually stopped and was taken into custody without incident. The handguns, wallet and I-Phones were all located.

Stolen property from another Mountain Ranch burglary was found later in the day when deputies conducted a search of Seagraves house.
