Sonora, CA — The proposal to increase Tuolumne County’s Tourist Occupancy Tax will be the focus of Mother Lode Views this weekend.
Guests will include Visitors Bureau Executive Director Nanci Sikes and Chamber of Commerce President and CEO George Segarini.
Voters will decide June 8th whether to increase the tax paid by visitors on hotels and lodging from the current 8 percent to 10 percent. It requires a 50-percent-majority-plus-one in order to pass. The wording states that it must be approved by voters in both the City of Sonora and County of Tuolumne to go into law.
