Autopsy Scheduled

Sonora, CA — A forensic autopsy will be conducted later today on the body found Tuesday morning on Cottonwood Road.
Sgt. Jeff Wilson with the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office says no cause of death or identity has been established at this time.
The body was wrapped in black plastic and located on a dirt shoulder about 11.5 miles outside the community of Tuolumne.
The body was initially taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center to be x-rayed. It has since been transported outside of the county for the autopsy.
A full investigation involving the Sheriff’s Office and Department of Justice personnel is underway.
