The National Weather Service has extended the Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Warning through 5am Friday.
Snow levels will lower to 4500 feet by Thursday night.
Three to six inches of accumulation is likely above 5000 feet. Five to eight inches of snow is expected above 7000 feet.
Winds will be consistent from 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph over the crest.
Thunderstorms are possible both Thursday afternoon and night.
