Yosemite Chief Ranger Selected

Yosemite, CA — Charles Cuvelier has been selected to be the Chief Ranger at Yosemite National Park.

Cuvelier has been Acting Chief Ranger since Steve Shackelton moved to Washington, DC earlier this year to serve as the Associate Director of Visitor and Resource Protection for the National Park Service.

Cuvelier has been at Yosemite since 2006 and assumes the leadership of a division which includes law enforcement, search and rescue, fire & aviation, telecommunications, emergency medical services, the Mounted Horse Patrol program, the Emergency Communications Center, and legal support services.
