Sacramento, CA – The Association of California Water Agencies is honoring Senator Dave Cogdill as the “Legislator of the Year.”
Cogdill led the effort to create an $11.4 billion water bond that will go before voters in November.
“California’s economic prosperity hinges on the availability of safe and clean water,” says Cogdill. “My top legislative priority has been achieving a comprehensive solution to the state’s water woes.”
The ACWA is a statewide association of public agencies that has 450 members. Cogdill delivered a speech at the association’s spring conference and exhibition held in Monterey.
A Tulchin Research Poll released earlier this year indicates that the water bond measure is lacking the public support needed for approval.
