Columbia Bids Farewell

Columbia, CA – Columbia College held its 41st Commencement Friday evening at the Oak Pavilion.

124 associate in arts degrees were given out, 54 associate in science degrees, 17 associate in science (occupational education) degrees, and 66 certificates of achievement. Twelve graduated with distinction and 21 with honors.

Dr. Joan Smith, Columbia College President introduced members of the class of 2010. She was joined by Yosemite Community College District Trustees Pat Dean, Desirree Abshire and Linda Flores.

Scott Etter, President of the Associated Students of Columbia College delivered the welcome address. Lonnie Blansit, President of the Classified Senate and Erik Andal, President of the Academic Senate conveyed the college’s welcome. The student graduation address was delivered by Emily Marie Valentine and the concluding student farewell was by Ariella Merav Megory.
