Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA – A San Andreas man was arrested after leading the Angels Camp Police Department on a high speed chase.

An officer attempted to stop a vehicle early Thursday morning driven by 40-year-old Walter Fred Pool III for a vehicle infraction. Pool refused to stop near the intersection of Hwy 49 and Murphys Grade Road and a chase was initiated.

The Police Department says Pool reached speeds of 90 miles an hour and he eventually came to a stop on Dogtown Road, approximately four miles east of the city limits.

Pool was arrested on charges related to evading an officer, resisting arrest, driving with a suspended license, and being under the influence.

A passenger and dog were also in the vehicle. 23-year-old Kristopher R. Frontella, of San Andreas, was arrested and charged with public intoxication. The dog was placed in protective custody at the county animal shelter.

No collisions or injuries occurred as a result of the chase.
