Final Week Of 2009 Roundup Queen
Ariel Diggan is in her final days of serving as the 2009 Mother Lode Round Up Queen.
Diggan was Wednesday’s KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".
Diggan had wanted to compete for Mother Lode Queen honors because, "I grew up around Mother Lode Round Up. I marched and rode in the parade. I’ve always wanted to be a part of the Posse Family."
Diggan said the year was almost exactly what she had been anticipating, if not just a touch busier than what she had forseen.
Last year, Diggan won the award for most tickets sales as well as awards for congeniality, photogenic and horsemanship.
Ariel is a June, 2008 Sonora High graduate and recently completed her ROP Cosmotology program.
Eventually she envisions specializing in livestock reproduction hoping to manage a breeding program at a large ranch some day.
The 2010 Motherlode Roundup Queen Coronation will take place this Sunday evening at the Sonora Elks Lodge.
The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am
