Preparing For Lowe’s

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — Realignment work has begun along Old Wards Ferry Road in preparation of the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center.

"It will probably take them until the end of July to get all of the road work done," says Ed Wyllie, City of Sonora Community Development Director. "They’re realigning the road, placing a traffic signal at the intersection of Greenley South, Old Wards Ferry and Sanguinetti Road, and placing a new railroad crossing for Sierra Railroad."

Lowe’s is covering the cost of the $1.92 million upgrades, but much of it will be reimbursed through traffic mitigation fees that city receives for new projects in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
