Raising Money For Cancer Research

Sponsored by:

Angels Camp, CA — There’s quite a bit of activity at Bret Harte High School this weekend.

Calaveras County residents are out raising money for the American Cancer Society at the eighth annual Relay For Life.

The event spans 24 hours and at least one team member must remain on the track to keep the relay running.

Last year’s event raised around $80,000.

It begins at 9am with an opening ceremony and Survivors Lap. Live music and entertainment will be prevalent throughout the day. Community members are encouraged to come out and support the participants.

At 8pm tonight will be the traditional Luminaria Ceremony recognizing those that have passed away from cancer.

Tuolumne County’s Relay for Life is scheduled for May 22-23 at Sonora High School.
