The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon.
A third to three quarters of an inch of rain is expected in the Motherlode.
Snow levels will fluctuate from 3000 through 4500 feet.
Twelve to eighteen inches of snow accumulation is expected above 4500 feet. Up to two feet of snow is likely above 7000 feet.
Winds in the Motherlode could range from ten to twenty mph, with some gusts reaching up to twenty-five mph. In the high Sierra, winds will blow from thirty to fifty mph with some gusts reaching fifty and seventy mph.
