Bear Valley Mountain Season Winding Down

Sponsored by:

Despite a weak economy, Bear Valley Mountain reported the largest crowds in nearly five years for the 2009/2010 ski season.

Rosie Sundell, the Director of Marketing of Bear Valley Mountain, said the season began with an ideal few feet of snow just before going into the two week Christmas through New Years Holiday period. That was the first contributing factor in bringing out record crowds.

Sundell was Wednesday morning´s KVML Newsmaker of the Day.

Sundell said, “I think that the closeness of our resort, our price point and the numerous new attractions such as the Family Lodge and Sno-Cat tours, all helped to attract this year´s large crowds. It´s amazing what snow, sun and the desire to ski, can do for business.”

Bear Valley Mountain is winding down with numerous events planned for this weekend. (for video of the Pond Skimming Keyword: video )

Bear Valley will be closed from Monday April 12th through Thursday April 15th before re-opening for the April 16th -18th weekend.

According to Sundell, Bear Valley is scheduled to close after Sunday the 18th, although the staff will monitor snow conditions and demand for any further season extensions.

The Newsmaker of the Day can be heard each weekday morning at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47 on AM-1450 KVML.
