The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the Sierra Nevada from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening.
Snow levels will range from 4000 feet through 5500 feet.
Total snow accumulations of four to eight inches should be expected from 4000 – 5000 feet. One to over two feet of snow is likely at 6000 feet and above.
Winds will gust up to 25 mph in the lower elevations and up to 50 mph over the Sierra crest.
An inch of rain is expected to fall in the Motherlode.
Another storm will bring more rain and snow again on Friday.
