San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County finds itself in a “waiting mode” … waiting on the state for a clarification of several jail project issues.
According to CAO Jeanne Boyce , “We’re in a waiting mode now to really take a look at what the contractual agreement will be between the state and the counties that have been awarded AB900 funds. There’s some concerns on the part of the counties in terms of the state’s budget deficit and how that might impact the bonds’ assurance and cash flow to to counties.
The state has awarded the county the AB900 funds but the county has a due diligence to ensure that those funds are received in a timely manner that won’t put the county at risk. We need to look at the state’s agreement with us to ensure that we can meet the obligations that are going to be set forth in that document (from the state).”
Because of waiting on the state the Tuesday 10am Jail Study Session was continued to next month.
