New Business For Angels Camp

Sponsored by:

Something unusual will be taking place on Friday in Angels Camp; the opening of a new business.

Greg Scott, the owner of Scott’s Yogurt Factory was Wednesday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Scott’s Yogurt Factory will be a self-serve yogurt shop. Customers will be able to serve themselves with as much yogurt as they would like and then choose from seventy-five to eighty different toppings. At the end of the line, the customer’s yogurt is put on a scale and they will pay by the weight.

Scott says that this self-serve style is the latest fad for yogurt shops in Arizona, southern California and the greater bay area. This is the first for Calaveras County. Eventually Scott would like to open up a shop in Sonora.

Yogurt is a healthy alternative to ice cream, according to Scott.

Despite the recession, Scott anticipates great success. His research indicates that families always seem to have enough change in their pockets for dessert.

The new shop will provide five new jobs to the area. Scott said that he had received over one hundred job applications.

The “soft” grand opening will take place this Friday beginning at 3 PM. It is located at 51 N Main Street in Angels Camp. The telephone number for more information is (209) 736-2300.

The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
