Calculating Cleanup Damage

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA – Officials in Calaveras County are working to tabulate how much damage was caused by last week’s storms.

The Board of Supervisors requested a “State of Emergency” declaration from the Governor, which was approved Wednesday evening.

Captain Clay Hawkins with the Sheriff’s Department says, “It is in order to be positioned to submit a reimbursement request if funding becomes available from the state.”

Calaveras County had unexpected costs related to downed trees, downed power lines, snow removal and other weather related issues. Despite the “State of Emergency” declaration, there is not a guarantee that funding will be coming to the County.
