Serious Damage Escaped
San Andreas, CA — Little if any damage occured in Calaveras County Wednesday.
Despite Mother Nature’s blast of wind and rain Wednesday, Calaveras County awakened this morning relatively unscathed.
During the early afternoon hours Cosgrove Creek came close to flood stage. At one time the water reached the foundation level of a private residence on Burns Ct. in the Valley Springs area. According to Sgt. Rachelle Whiting from the Sheriff’s Department, “The rain let up and the water subsided so we’re O.K. for now.”
The only damage was the downed power line on Hwy 49 and 4 in the Angels Camp area. There are still many P.G.& E. customers without power in that immediate area.”
