The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for the Motherlode until 6 PM tonight.
Wind speeds of 25 to 45 mph are expected today, with some gusts reaching 60 mph.
This could bring potential problems with local power outages, falling tree limbs and downed trees.
The Winter Storm Warning has been extended for the Sierra Nevada through 4 AM Friday.
The remaining storms will bring several inches of snow to as low as 3000 feet. An additional one to four feet of snow is expected above 5000 feet and up to six feet of accumulation above 6000 feet.
Snow levels will continue to fluctuate between 3000 to 4500 feet.
The total snow accumulation in the Sierra from last Sunday through Friday, may end up being as much as ten feet above 6000 to 7000 feet.
