Supervisors Appeal Forest Plan

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — By a 3-2 vote, the Tuolumne County Supervisors are appealing decisions related to the Stanislaus National Forest’s Motorized Travel Management Plan.

A majority of the Board cited that they are concerned about issues like accessibility to campsites, winter road closure dates and parking changes.

Supervisors Liz Bass and Paulo Maffei voted against sending a letter of appeal. The appeal period for the Motorized Travel Management Plan ends today. An appeal review process will take 60 days. The plan is currently scheduled to take effect later this year.
