Prevent Flooding

Sonora, CA — With heavy rain predicted throughout next week, Tuolumne County OES Coordinator Kathleen Rustrum is encouraging residents to start getting prepared while the ground is still dry.

“If your property is prone to flooding, get those sandbags filled now,” says Rustrum. “Clean your gutters, and if you have a ditch running nearby, do what it takes to make sure that all of the debris is out of it.”

Residents can fill up bags with sand at three free locations in Tuolumne County.

-Columbia Airport; at the edge of the paved parking lot

-The City of Tuolumne; at the corner of Baker and Birch Streets

-Jamestown Road Yard; 7th Avenue, behind Jamestown Elementary
