Local Culinary Students Headed To D.C

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– The Columbia College Hospitality Management Program will be showcasing its culinary talents at a very special holiday event.

This week faculty member Gene Womble, along with students Jake Westurlund and Rose Anne Wells, will be traveling to our nation’s capitol to provide catering assistance for a reception at the U.S Capitol Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.

Since 1970, a National Forest has been asked to provide the Capitol Christmas tree. Of course this year, the tree was harvested from the Stanislaus National Forest.

Former Culinary Arts student and retired Forest Service employee Stephanie Bailey, presented this opportunity to the Hospitality Management program. Tuesday’s event will give local culinary students high profile catering experience.
