Two Women Arrested After Vehicle Accident

Angels Camp, CA– This week Calaveras County authorities arrested two women after a vehicle accident in Angels Camp.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday,  both CHP officers and Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 7449 Esmeralda Drive. A vehicle accident had reportedly resulted in a physical fight.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the driver, Jasmine Grant, was intoxicated as well as her two passengers. Three children, all under the age of six, were also in the car.

The investigation revealed that a male passenger in Grant’s vehicle started a physical fight with someone in the crash victim’s vehicle. The man was restrained by the victim until he calmed down.

The CHP arrived and arrested Grant. She was charged with a felony for driving while intoxicated and child endangerment. Grant’s sister-in-law, Elizabeth Grant was also arrested. Her charges include felony public intoxication and child endangerment due to her not properly securing her children in car seats and riding with a driver whom she knew was intoxicated.
