Parking Changes For Christmas Parade

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– Next week the streets of downtown Sonora will be filled with the sights and sounds of Christmas.

The 28th annual Sonora Christmas Parade on Washington Street is happening Friday, November 25th. It will begin at 5:30 pm at the historic Red Church and end at Restano Way.

The Sonora Police Department is reminding the public that unlike last year, parking will not be allowed on Washington Street.

“Basically, there will be no parking from the Red Church to William Street starting at 2 pm,” said Sonora Police Officer Jamie Boeding. “We want to get the word out so that people can plan ahead to park outside of downtown and come down and enjoy the parade. We’re trying to make it a little safer and give them a little more room to roam downtown.”

New this year will be Tuolumne County Transit’s Holiday Trolley which will run from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm the day of the parade.

Free shuttle service will be provided at the following locations:

Columbia State Park to Washington Street from 3pm-5pm and 6:30 pm-8 pm.

The Mother Lode Fairgrounds to Washington Street from 3pm to 5 pm and 6:30 pm to 8 pm.

The Junction Shopping Center to Stewart Street from 3 pm to 5 pm and 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
