Special City Council Meeting
Sonora, CA– The Sonora City Council held a special mini retreat this week to talk about a number of items including the upcoming Amgen Tour of California.
City of Sonora Community Development Director Rachelle Kellogg says the Council met yesterday at the Fire Museum on Washington Street.
“It was a great meeting”, said Kellogg. “Each of the departments which included administrative and finance, fire, police, community development and public works presented their work plans to the council and their facility, vehicle and equipment needs over the short and long term.”
Kellogg said the meeting was a good planning tool for the city because it provided opportunity for the Council to look at long term budget needs in regards to replacing equipment and vehicles.
The Council also approved a contract with the Amgen Tour of California which will be traveling through Sonora next year. City Administrator Tim Miller and Mayor Bill Canning are currently attending an Amgen Tour of California organizational meeting in Southern California.
