Crackdown On Marijuana Cultivation

Sonora, CA — Nearly a dozen people have been arrested over the past week in Tuolumne County for the cultivation of marijuana.
Some have medicinal marijuana cards and thought they were protected under the state’s laws governing medicinal cannabis. Officials argue that it was being cultivated and sold for profit.
Taken into custody on November 1st from the Yancey Ranch area of Twain Harte were 25-year-old Kari Ann Jones, 24-year-old Christopher Miller Glen, 28-year-old William Otts IV, 34-year-old Jamie Lee Mundo and 44-year-old Jonathan Wade Wolf.
On November 2nd, two people were arrested at a residence in the Good Luck Mine Area of Columbia. They are father and son, 58-year-old Craig Dean Carter and 29-year-old Tarian Michael Reiner.
On November 3rd, four people were arrested in a home at 22387 Belleview Road in the Sonora area. They are 24-year-old Kevin Massengale, 30-year-old Richard Dale Jorgenson II, 31-year-old Jared Michael Owens and 23-year-old Zachary Scott Smith of Belleview.
They all have charges related to the cultivation and possession of marijuana. The investigations leading up to the arrests have been led by the Tuolumne Narcotics Team.
