New MRI Available On Hospital Campus

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA– Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital has a new MRI facility on the San Andreas campus.

The new center with its General Electric 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imagaing (MRI) technology is now available five days a week for diagnostics and replaces a mobile unit previously in use.

“All of us at Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital are excited about the new fixed MRI” said V.P of Facilities and Project Development Larry Cornish. “The new system provides improved access to diagnostics for our community, and actually lowers our operating costs.”

Cornish says the enclosure building for a MRI system is extremely high tech and required design and quality considerations beyond typical commercial construction.

A partnership was formed between Aspen Street Architects in Angels Camp, Diede Construction of Lodi, Modern Renovators of Lorretto, Tennessee, and General Electric Healthcare to bring this imaging capability to Calaveras County.
