City Approves Business Program
Sonora, CA — This week the Sonora City Council discussed a $400,000 Community Development Block Grant that was recently awarded to the City.
“The Council approved the implementation of our Microenterprise grant, which will provide our local small businesses with business assistance programs,” says Tim Miller, City Administrator. “They will in part be administered by the Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority,and includes business training, counseling and assistance.”
It also includes a small business loan program that the city will be administering. Businesses that participate the in the program can apply for business loans up to $15,000. The federal grant funding is designed to help communities address development challenges.
