Reducing Alcohol Sales To Minors

Sonora, CA– The Sonora Police Department has joined forces with Friday Night Live and the YES Partnership to help support their Merchant Committed Program.

This program is designed to help reduce the sale and access of alcohol to minors through retail merchants.

The Merchant Committed Program focuses on the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) rules of identifying purchasers, the location of alcohol displays, signage, employee’s attending the merchant education program and law enforcement inspections.

There are currently five businesses that have partnered with Friday Night Live and the YES Partnership. They include Reich’s Outpost, Gold Country Gas, Corner Gas, 7-11 in Twain Harte and Twain Hart Market.

Sonora Police Chief Mark Stinson says the Sonora Police Department is looking forward to working with the merchants who join the program, along with Friday Night Live and the YES Partnership.
