Highway 120 Accident Causes Injuries
Chinese Camp, CA– Two people were seriously injured yesterday in an accident on Highway 120 at the bridge over Don Pedro.
According to the CHP, a family of four from Livermore who had just visited Yosemite National Park, was traveling on Highway 120 just west of Jacksonville Road.
Kristopher Lockhart, 22, of Ripley, England and his passenger were also in the area and were leaving the Don Pedro vista point. Lockhart reportedly told the CHP that he was from England and forgot to drive on the right side of the roadway.
Lockhart began to drive eastbound into the westbound lane. After he saw Bradley Wallin, 41, of Livermore approaching him, he realized he was driving the wrong way. He braked and swerved to the left but could not avoid a head on collision with Wallin.
Lockhart’s passenger and one of Wallin’s passengers were transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center with major injuries including broken ribs and a broken arm.
