Carlon Falls Trailhead Temporarily Closed
Sonora, CA– The Carlon Falls Trailhead on the Groveland Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest, will be closed temporarily.
According to the Forest Service, between August 5th and January 2012, the trailhead area will be closed while bridge work is being completed by Tuolumne County crews. They will be working on the Evergreen Road Bridge over the South Fork of the Tuolumne River.
During construction, the trailhead and parking area adjacent to the bridge project will be used as a staging area for construction equipment. Traffic over the bridge will be limited to one lane with no room for pedestrian traffic.
Tuolumne County previously completed the environmental assessment concerning bridge repairs and staging of equipment at the Carlon Falls Trailhead and parking area.
The closure of the trailhead and parking area is intended to prevent pedestrian conflicts with vehicles and construction work.
