Water Plan Public Meetings
San Andreas, CA– The East Bay Municipal Utility District will hold meetings this month to provide more opportunities for the public to hear comments on the Revised 2040 Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR).
This controversial water supply plan calls for raising the level of Pardee Reservoir.
A recent Sacramento Superior Court judge’s decision states that the agency must revise the plan’s environmental impact report to study the effects of the Middle Bar segment of the Mokelumne River and to the Miwok ancestral gathering places, potential impacts from the possible removal of the Middle Bar Bridge as an emergency evacuation route and viability of joining with neighboring Contra Costa Water District in the Los Vaqueros Reservoir expansion as a supplemental water supply option.
There will be a meeting tonight at 6:30 pm at San Andreas Town Hall located on 24 Church Hill Road and another meeting July 21st at 6:30 pm in Oakland at the EBMUD headquarters at 375 11th Street.
