Summerville Graduation Tonight
Summerville High/Connections Academy will graduate the class of 2011 tonight at 8pm at Thorsted Field (the football field).
Summerville High School Principle, Dave Urquhart, was Friday’s KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".
Tonight’s ceremony will conclude with a fireworks show.
Urquhart urges the public to arrive early. There will be shuttle service from the Westside parking lot.
During the Summer, Urquhart will have a couple of weeks off but Summer School will be in session and he will need to get the master schedule planned, enroll students, continue to work with the tight budgets and prepare for the new school season beginning in August.
When asked about the Principle position at Connections Academy, Urquhart stated that it is a seperate process and a situation that he can’t "really comment on at the moment".
The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
Sonora High will hold graduation ceremonies on June 2, while Tioga and Don Pedro High students will graduate on June 6.
